What is FDT | Freshwater Dog Territory?

FDT stands for Freshwater Dog Territory — a Canadian dog-themed collection from Barking Creative inspired by Lake Ontario, the dogs who swim, fetch and play along its shores, and the idea that some things simply don't need rebranding.

Following the controversy over attempts to refer to Lake Ontario as “Lake America,” FDT offers a distinctly Canadian response — with considerably more paws and considerably less politics.

Our Freshwater Dog Territory designs celebrate Lake Ontario through vintage-inspired Great Lakes artwork, Canadian imagery and dog-lover humour. The collection features a swimming retriever against an eastern Lake Ontario landscape inspired by the Kingston area, along with the message:

LAKE ONTARIO — NOT UP FOR RENAMING.
